For the sixth year running, we’re raising our tentacles in celebration after being shortlisted at the Onrec awards. The Onrec award ceremony, which takes place on Thursday 1 March, celebrates success, growth, innovation, talent and achievements within the online recruitment industry.

We’re absolutely chuffed to confirm that Blue Octopus Recruitment is shortlisted in the following categories:

The Technical Innovation Award (National Supplier)

For the job board / supplier who has introduced unique innovation into their online recruitment offerings.

Over the past year, our digital team have been working hard to make updates and improvements to Octo, our flexible, all-encompassing recruitment technology. Developed in-house, we’ve used valuable insights from the wonderful HR teams we work with to ensure Octo stays relevant, current and useful. Upgrades to the system have included easy auto-posting across job boards and the addition of an innovative onboarding suite.

The Best Use of Online Recruitment by a Recruitment Agency

The world of candidate attraction and selection has changed dramatically in recent years. This award goes to the recruitment agency that has embraced new technology to improve their services and those they offer customers.

Working with Mears Group, we’ve been helping to improve their online recruitment processes and candidate experience. Last year, we launched a dedicated, optimised and mobile-responsive careers site, which seamlessly links to our recruitment technology Octo – and so acts as a centralised hiring hub for managers! We’ve also been using paid advertising to help Mears Group effectively target talent for their roles. With positive results already in evidence, it’s great to have our recruitment marketing services recognised on the Onrec shortlist.

Innovative Use of Social Media in the Recruitment Process

Social media is acknowledged as an effective tool in the recruiter toolbox. Innovation to make use of the opportunity’s offerings are recognised by this award.

Further developing our relationship with Mears Group, we’ve been on a mission to transform social media into a valuable recruitment referral source for them, working with them to maintain the positive social presence of their Mears Careers recruitment brand. Since February last year, we’ve seen some encouraging results and we’re continuing to work with them to produce engaging content and attract candidates through social media and paid advertising channels.

We’ll keep you updated – but wish us luck!
